Course Description
The goals of this course are to aid students in recognizing that the world’s cultures have become dependent on other cultures since the beginning of human existence. The development of both western and non-western cultures is examined throughout the year. Students learn to question, analyze, evaluate, and draw conclusions about the way in which all human activities demonstrate how men and women have used the ideas of those who have come before us. Students learn to use study aids such as time lines, maps, charts and videos. Special attention will also be given to the geography of the world.

Missed Work
It is up to you to ask me what work you have missed before school, during break, or after school. Not during class time. If work is not made up within one week from the day you return to school, you will receive a 0 for that grade, with the exception of papers. If you are absent the day a paper is due, the paper must be passed in the day of your return to school or it will be marked late.
If you know you are not going to be here for an assignment ahead of time, please speak to me as soon as you know. Please leave adequate time to discuss this option (at least a week before test/presentation).***** For certain assignments, a deadline will be given. This deadline will be explicitly stated and students will be expected to follow. Failure to turn work in by the specific deadline will result in a 0 for a grade for that assignment.
